The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has revealed that the results of this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School would be made public on Tuesday, December 14, 2023. This news has been much anticipated.
The Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, John Kapi, gave stakeholders the reassurance that the council is making every effort to fulfill the deadline and guarantee that the results of the worldwide examination for Free Senior High School (SHS) students are released on time.
Examination Statistics
In the 2023 WASSCE for School, a record 447,204 candidates took part, with 211,834 men and 235,370 women. This number is a noteworthy 5.8% rise over the 422,883 candidates included in the 2022 admission statistics.
The test was administered at 834 approved testing locations among 975 public and private senior high schools.

- Visit ghana.waecdirect.org to access the WAEC results checking portal.
- Click on “Enter your Index Number” once the website loads.
- Choose the Exam Type (WASSCE, for example).
- Choose your Exam Year (2023, for example).
- Enter the serial number that can be found on the voucher that you bought.
- On your voucher, enter the 12-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN), such as 012388678910.
- Verify the year of the examination and your index number.
- Press the “Submit” button.
