Tragic sword attack in Hainault: On a calm Tuesday morning, a brutal sword assault devastated a serene neighborhood in northeast London, killing a 14-year-old child and injuring four others.

The event happened close to the Hainault subway station. A 36-year-old man crashed his vehicle into a neighboring house and then went on the rampage, slaying people with a sword.

Just before 7 a.m., the Metropolitan Police received reports of a car crashing into a house, which prompted them to investigate the mayhem at Thurlow Gardens.

The next thing that happened was a terrifying 20-minute attack during which the attacker struck multiple passersby with a big sword.

Twenty-two minutes after the first emergency call, the police were able to apprehend the assailant with a Taser due to their prompt response.

It was a tragic loss when the 14-year-old child passed away due to his wounds after being taken to the hospital.

Two police officers and two other people had significant injuries that required hospitalization, though they were not life-threatening.
