In a shocking discovery, security camera footage from a hotel corridor in 2016 appears to show rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs brutally abusing singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. The video, recently aired by CNN, has come to light following allegations made by Ms. Ventura in a lawsuit last year.
The video, which was purportedly shot at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, shows a concerning series of incidents.
Ms. Ventura can be seen heading toward the elevators after checking out of the hotel. A shirtless man with a towel around his waist, is seen rushing down the corridor.
She drops a bag as he runs up to her, grabs her, and tosses her to the ground. Then, as she’s on the ground, Combs kicks her, gets her luggage, kicks her once more, and tries to pull her by her shirt.

He walks away for a little while, then comes back to push Ms. Ventura as she gets up. He then sits in a chair close to the elevators and tosses something.
Legal and Public Reactions
Ms. Ventura’s attorney, Douglas Wigdor, questioned Mr. Combs’ unsettling and predatory actions in the footage while acknowledging Ventura’s bravery and tenacity in exposing this.
The distressing video has been acknowledged by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, however, given that the crime happened in 2016, they caution that it may be too late to prosecute.
Ms. Ventura claimed in a now-settled federal complaint that Mr. Combs struck her in the face in March 2016 while under the influence of alcohol, leaving her with a black eye.

The lawsuit was filed last year. According to the lawsuit, as Ms. Ventura attempted to flee the hotel room, Combs chased her and hurled glass vases at her while she rushed for the elevator. Combs was also accused in the complaint of paying $50,000 for the hotel footage.
Combs’ Public Apology
Following the release of the CCTV footage, Combs apologized on his page, stating that his actions were inexcusable and expressing disgust. He stated his commitment to seeking professional help and therapy to improve his life.
Attorney Meredith Firetog criticized Combs’ apology, stating it was more about himself than the victims he hurt, and that he was only compelled to apologize after his denials were proven false.

Even after settling with Ms. Ventura, Combs continues to face charges from many women who have accused him of sexual assault. His residences in Miami and Los Angeles were searched last month as the basis of a federal probe into human trafficking.
Multiple civil lawsuits alleging various sexual misbehavior and other criminal behaviors have been filed against Combs since November.
Ongoing Legal Battles
The complainant, who wishes to remain anonymous, accused Combs and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall of rape in the early 1990s. Joie Dickerson-Neal made similar accusations, claiming that Combs drugged and sexually raped her in 1991.

Combs was implicated in a group rape in 2003, according to a different lawsuit filed in December. Producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a lawsuit against Combs most recently, claiming he was coerced into having sex with sex workers Combs recruited and that Combs had made inappropriate approaches.
Combs’s lawyers have continually refuted these claims, calling them fictitious or money-grabbing. Combs has not been charged with any offense and maintains his innocence, promising to disprove the allegations and clear all charges.
