EC to Re-Exhibit Provisional Voter Register from October 15
EC to Re-Exhibit Provisional Voter Register: The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced that the Provisional Voter’s Register (PVR) will be re-exhibited from October 15 to October 19, 2024.
This decision follows a meeting with political parties and other stakeholders on October 1, 2024, under the auspices of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC).
The EC emphasized that this re-exhibition exercise is an integral part of its ongoing efforts to ensure a transparent and accurate voter register in the run-up to the 2024 general elections. The goal is to allow citizens to verify their registration details, make corrections, and ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
Public Verification Process
To make the verification process more accessible and convenient for voters, the EC has introduced digital platforms where citizens can check their information. Voters can verify their details on the Provisional Voter’s Register by dialing 71151# or visiting the EC’s official website. This initiative allows registered voters to confirm the accuracy of their information without needing to visit an EC office physically.
Reporting Discrepancies
The Commission has advised the public to report any discrepancies or errors found in their registration details to their respective District Offices for correction. This step is essential to ensure that all voter information is accurate and up to date. The EC assured the public that prompt action would be taken to address any issues that arise during the re-exhibition period, thereby safeguarding the integrity of the voter register.
