Dr. Bawumia Asserts NPP’s Superior Performance in Development, Challenges NDC to Dispute with Data
The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Bawumia, has asserted that public data proves the NPP has a stronger track record than the National Democratic Congress (NDC) across all sectors.
Speaking during his campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region in Tema, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the NPP, under President Akufo-Addo’s leadership, has outperformed the previous NDC government over the past seven years in terms of development.
He challenged the NDC and former President John Mahama to dispute these claims with data. “If you look at performance, sector by sector, we have performed better. Whether it is agriculture, we have done better. Whether it is industry, we have done better,” Dr. Bawumia said, listing infrastructure projects as key achievements of the NPP.

Dr. Bawumia claimed that the NPP had created 2.1 million jobs, more than any government in the Fourth Republic, while also excelling in other sectors such as roads, railways, hospitals, interchanges, schools, and sports facilities. He dared the NDC to produce data showing superior performance in any area, stating, “I speak only with data. When I say we have done better, I have the data to support it.”
He concluded by pointing out that former President Mahama has avoided debating him, asserting that Mahama “cannot make these claims in front of me” as he lacks the data to back them up.
