Arizona State University Mastercard Foundation: The 2025 Arizona State University Mastercard Foundation Innovation and Technology Scholarships are now open for applications.

This program aims to empower 120 young African professionals over five years (2025-2030) through fully funded master’s level education at Arizona State University (ASU), with an emphasis on technology and innovation.

Scholarship Overview

The Mastercard Foundation, in collaboration with ASU, offers fully immersive, traditional on-campus 2-year master’s programs to African students, focusing on fields related to technology and sustainable innovation. For the 2025/2026 academic year, 30 scholarships will be awarded, covering all expenses related to tuition, accommodation, and comprehensive support throughout the program.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of an African country, committed to ethical leadership and community engagement
  • Be between 18 and 33 years old by the application deadline
  • Demonstrate academic excellence and financial need
  • Have completed an undergraduate degree by July 2025
  • Not have started or completed any graduate degree before August 2025
  • Be able to reside in Phoenix, Arizona for the program’s duration
  • Meet ASU’s academic and English proficiency requirements

  • MS Civil, Environmental & Sustainable Engineering
  • MS Clean Energy Systems
  • MS Modern Energy Production and Sustainable Use

Additional Opportunities

Scholarship recipients will participate in leadership training, individual mentorship, and other Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program activities at ASU. They may also work part-time on-campus during the academic year and engage in a 2-month Africa-based internship between the first and second year.
