Essential Requirement

• Registered General Nurse with degree or Diploma in Nursing
• Must be a member of Nursing and Midwifery Council
• Should have post qualification Experience
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Good customer care and interpersonal skills

RESPONSIBILITIES(MIDWIVES)

• Monitoring the health of pregnant women and the unborn babies
• Educating patients about reproductive health, parenthood readiness, and antenatal care, as well as their partners and families.
• Teaching patients how to handle their discomfort in order to get them ready for labor.
• Giving emotional support and encouragement throughout labor, as well as carrying out patient deliveries in birthing facilities, patients’ homes, or hospitals.
• Patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse are taken and recorded, and any necessary diagnostic tests are also ordered.
• Providing support to patients and their spouses in dealing with miscarriages, stillbirths, neonatal deaths, and terminations.
• Instructing new mothers in infant feeding techniques.
• Aiding patients in developing appropriate birth plans.
• Giving them wise counsel on prenatally appropriate diets, workouts, and medications.
